A Love Letter To Everyday

Each week my studio practice changes, being a mother to a 3 year old and a 1 yr old, I have found in the last year and a half that I have been creating work that is deeply personal to me, but not finding the space to share it.

Sometimes months go by and my work has moved subject the conversation has moved on, and it always returns, but then there are pieces outside of collections.

In 2020, In lock down, pre kids I created paintings that I then shared each Saturday, at the same time, they were of my garden of small pieces from the week, moments captured.

There is something very intimate and authentic about that process to me, and now being at home with my just turned 1 year old babe, I find myself in my home studio looking out onto a different garden from lockdown but a familiarity of the richness of everyday, and also the challenges - 5 years later my challenge is time and getting better mentally.

Creating art has become more important than ever as I have found it has really helped with my mental health after becoming very unwell with perinatal mental health, which left me not able to paint for 8 months.

All in all this is to say the below will be an ongoing project, where I share works from the studio on a Sunday, I can’t guarantee it is every Sunday, but I will be sharing authentically and I hope this gives a real insight into the artist studio and creation.

The idea to start this again has been in my mind for about half a year - with the title - A love letter to everyday - which in itself feels like an act of rebellion, to see joy and hope, even when you feel despair and the world feels scary.

For this ongoing series there will be a range of works and at studio prices, from small studies, colour studies to more layered paintings.

I hope the artworks make you feel inspired, hopeful and that everything is going to be okay
