'Concrete Dreams' is a series of paintings exhibited as part of London Design Festival 2016 with Shoreditch Design Triangle in a group show with collective ATC.
This series was inspired by the city environment, the marks and textures left on its walls and pavements. Inspired by these marks I'm building a vocabulary into my paintings, some visible some into hidden layers. The process of people leaving their mark, this eroding away or being painted over to form a clean top layer only to be disturbed by a mark, a spill, nature all forms a story. A wall, a path, It has its own history and we see only glimpses of this, just as a painting has hidden layers to it, both leaves a mark to say 'I was here'.
